What is Patreon, you may ask. Patreon is a platform for creators to get paid, and for patrons to communicate directly with creators in regards to their work. Basically you make a "Pledge" every month and get access to bonus content, direct access and special rewards.
Why pay? Well, so I can keep working. Ha ha but really, Patreon is a safe space to post content that people SPECIFICALLY want to see, without being lost in the algorythum. Havnt seen a post lately? Miss your favorite creators lost in a sea of ads and racist Aunt Karens misinformation? This is a platform to both support those people and get away from that BS. I know its tough, and a lot of people dont have a lot of spare cash for something they can prolly get for free, but I just wanted to throw out there that I have this available and if you would like to join that community it is available to you!

Mr. Pickles is 20! What an old bugger, right? I got him when I was 18, working at Petco. We had a cat rescue who come by every week, and our family cat, Shadows had been poisoned by eating a poisoned mouse (please don't use rodent poison all). My mom was NOT taking it well, and in general the family was pretty depressed, so when the cat rescue had their annual "Black and White" sale I drug my mom to their head quarters. The Black and White sale was whenever they had to many black, white or tuxedo cats, the adoption was $20 a piece! They are the least adopted colors because they are the most common colors.
We looked around, and the head rescue gal mentioned there were a pair of black boy cats at an adoption event down at Arden Fair mall in Sacramento that she thought would be perfect for our family, and my mom said lets go! An hour later we went down to that event, and Batty and Koda had already found a home. So we looked around at the other kitties. My mom was set on getting a pair of kitties, so we looked at multi home cats specifically. Mom fell in love with a silly looking, long bodied, wall eyed black tuxedo named Snow Paws. I was looking for a black/white cat, but this little blue tux was squeaking and rubbing on the cage all cute, so the rescue gal there opened the cage for him. He immediately wanted loves, and was a ball of purrs. "Mom I like this guy" "Of course you do, his name is Pickles" "Oh my god his name is PICKLES??" and I adopted him right there. As we were leaving my sister declared there was a cat she was getting, having been quiet and moody the whole trip. An Elderly Persian with the best resting bitch face named Kelsey joined us too. Turned out Snow Paws had been mixed up with the actual snow paws, was 8+, HATED other cats, and being indoors, and would puke, pee and poop everywhere until we let him outside, much to the cat rescues dismay. He never would leave the porch though. So Snow PEES as he was dubbed became my dads smoking buddy (gatta have a cigar on the porch right? bleh), My sister soon learned she was mildly allergic to cats so Kelsey on her bed 24/7 was bad, so the 16+ year old lady moved into my moms room, and Pickles became our family snuggle butt. He truly is a lover guy, really loves everyone. He's my good boy (Except peeing on rugs, which is his second favorite hobby) and Lived through like 5 other cats, several dog buddies, a few moves, bad boy friends, a wedding and just keeping being a good squeaky boy!
![]() The biggest Craft show in Utah is back and we will be there! Friday through Sunday come see the UntidyVenus booth live (or through the etsy). Steve and I have been making fun things, plus diving into our lockdown crafts to go all out for you all! I actually just washed my hands from working on some limited edition Tea Towles/ Flour Sack Towels/ Altar Cloths with the block print Crude Magic in the center. If there aer any color combos or print combos you think would be good for limited runs let me know, I always take suggestions. Check out that messy office/every surface is a drying surface now. At least Mr Unicorn (giant pink plush) is pulling his weight. I am also in the process of bringing back the tiny paintings. Both Artist Trading Cards and my tiny acrylics have been being neglected and I think its time to bring them back! I'll be posting pictures of the 4x4 inch ones here shortly. Everyone please stay safe, stay healthy! ![]() So this last weekend we had a booth at Ogden Pride! And it was SO MUCH FUN! It was so wonderful to get to be part of, and support the LQBTQ+ community locally, and see everyone coming out of quarantine (for now). Only our second show in two years, it was also great to get out and show off the booth! Both Steve and I have been working hard on new products, setting up better displays for old favorites, and in general missing in person action. That being said, we also have all of our new stuff up on the etsy page if you wanna shop from home. Some of the new products are more SNACKASAURS! We have more enamel pins! to add to the family we have TeaSiosaur (Plesiosaur and teapot), BrachioPretzel (Brachiosaur Pretzel), DipLicorice (Diploticus Licorice) and UtahSnactor (Utahraptor and Jello). Have I mentioned I LOVE the snackasaurs? Like, they are the best? We have a bunch more ideas too. Also for those who read the blog, we will be having a Gary the Unicorn enamel pin run coming up. We are doing some limited edition Garys and I AM THRILLED. Seriously though. I love Gary, and apparently a lot of you do too, so stay tuned! ![]() Hey everyone! So I have some updates, a rant, and prolly more ranting. First things first, we did our first live show in almost 2 years! It was thrilling! The Mountain Arts and Music Festival was a hit here in Huntsville Utah. Outdoors, fully vaccinated, fully stocked! Next show for us will be Ogden Pride on August 1st, which we were invited too and are SO HONORED! Stocking up on those rainbow star tea towels for sure! We will also be showing at Craft Lake City August 13th, 14th and 15th. Again we are so thrilled to be part of Utahs largest craft show. We also ended our second ever Kickstarter, and were quite successful! I am so happy you all love the Snackasaurs as much as I do, and with MORE snackasaur enamel pins on the way I couldn't be happier. But Kickstarter isn't releasing the funds to me. For days I was trying to find out why, and no one would respond until i started a twitter campaign calling them out. Apparently my bank account isnt acceptable and neither is my husbands because thats not in my name... so what happens now? I guess I have to wait and see. Meanwhile I am still ordering out of pocket and shipping pins as they arrive to all the donors, then they will be available for sale! I am for sure done with kickstarter though, shady shady shady (and have a long history of anti woman campaigns being promoted) Second rant, social media sucks. the end. Wait... Yeah we all know. Between the Amazon sellers stealing my art (over 100 vendors now woot), Kickstarter being shady, Instagram now being TikTock, TikTock being RACIST AF, and Facebook being a money pit, I'm... kind of over all of it. I'm tired of algorithms and trends and generally just exhausted. I have all but abandoned my UntidyVenus accounts because its demoralizing just trying to BE SEEN. And my sucess at live in person events shows people LIKE my stuff, but I'm not 25, I'm not skinny, or marketable, or whatever else is happening and so therefore not INTERESTING to the over consumption world. So I am going to stop fighting it. I'm am going to attept to just blog, and post when I want and when I can. So most likely this will become my pet project. Art, food, packing and styling tips because thats something that I have become interested in. Prolly some gear reviews too because I LOVE GEAR. So hope you all enjoy Izzy, UntidyVenus ![]() Its been a long year! Well, two I guess. Since I last posted, we moved! From our small California apartment to a large Utah home, with room for my studio, Steve having an office (and work from home ability) and a place for Pickles and friends to roam! We adopted two new kitties last year, Cameron and Poe, adorable tortie twin who are very good girls. I havn't done as much water color, but I have started block printing again which is so freeing! I'm hoping to use this space more, post more, do more. 2020 was a year of massive change, for just about everyone. I hope to move forward and be a stronger, and better person, artist and friend! That being said, As of this post I've started a patreon which will be linked under merch, with exclusives for those dedicated fans! I am also looking forward to making more unique and amazing merch, working on more virtual and live events as they come up, and being more interactive!
